Find a Safe Neighborhood

It's one of the first questions you ask your agent: is this a safe neighborhood? Most of the time, the agent isn't able to answer you. The reason for that is due to fair housing laws, the agents aren't allowed to badmouth or say that a neighborhood is safe according to MSN.com. The inspection of the house won't give you any information regarding the safety of the neighborhood either. So what can you do? You can do some online searching of the neighborhood and read some reviews on the city. Police have also said that it's best to always trust your gut. If you don't feel safe in that neighborhood, then you're gut feeling may be right. It's also a good idea to look for broken windows, abandoned lots, graffiti, missing street lights all signs of neglect can and will attract crime. If you're looking to move to a safe place, then you should look in Atlanta. Once there, make sure to call the Atlanta movers, your local Atlanta moving company, to help you get settled in. Our Atlanta moving company will quilt pad wrap your belongings so they'll never get damaged. For a great moving experience, call us today and have a great hassle-free move.

Buying Homes Gets Easier

Mortgage rates are lower, home prices have dropped and now is definitely the time to buy. Many can afford to place a few thousand dollars on a down payment, but there are some that can't. It's possible to buy a house without a down payment and many states and local governments are now offering “down payment assistance programs”, grants or low-and no-interest loans to first-time buyers or to those that haven't owned a home in years. According to AOL Real Estate, these programs are growing. There are now approximately 1,000 of these “down payment assistance programs”. Banks are being more flexible with borrowers who about 2 years ago were regarded as too risky with help on a down payment. How to Choose a Roommate?

Some roommates can drive you nuts. The Atlanta movers, your local Atlanta moving company, have a few tips on how to choose a roommate. First try to find someone that is more like you. If you're a neat freak, then choosing someone who's sloppy, well, is a formula for disaster. Second, make sure the person you choose has a good job or at least a job. You don't want to fork out the rent money for your roommate if he/she can't afford it. Third, try to find someone that doesn't do illegal drugs. If this person does illegal drugs, then chances are he/she's buying the drugs from a dealer or he/she's a dealer themselves. You don't need that type of drama in your life. If you get a roommate that enjoys to party, then if you're not the same way, chances are that you're not going to get along. If you're more the quiet type, then try to look for someone that is too. It's always a good idea to do a background check as well. If you're moving with someone or alone, make sure to call the Atlanta movers to help you. Our Atlanta moving company is licensed and insured and staffed with professional movers. For a hassle-free move call the Atlanta moving specialists today!

The White Stuff We Call Snow

December is a great time of the year to plan ahead for some home-improvement projects. If you live in North America, than you probably will get some snow. You can take advantage of the snowfall to learn things about your house that only snow can show you. For example, snow melting rapidly from your roof or icicles forming quickly are both signs that heat is escaping through the roof. What can you do? Might be a good idea to consider some insulation. The insulation should be thick and evenly distributed. Make sure the insulation used is dry. Atlanta doesn't get very heavy snow, but nevertheless it does get the white stuff. The Atlanta movers, your local moving company, suggests to look out for those quick forming icicles. If you're cold in your home then you probably have bad insulation which means that you're going to turn up the heat costing you more money. By making sure that your insulation is strong and well-placed can and will save you money. There's no need to sell your house and move out but if you do, make sure to use the Atlanta movers as your moving company. They are experts and will always provide the best moving services.

Corleone's House for Sell

You've probably seen the movie more than once. “The Godfather”, was one of the greatest movie ever made and now you can own a piece of Hollywood history. The house which is located in Staten Island, N.Y., and was the backdrop as the home of the Corleone family in the 1972 movie is on the market for $2.9 million. The home in the movie had some minor modifications such as taller stone walls an iron gate and of course many men standing around in black suits smoking cigarettes. In real life the family owned the English Tudor for over 50 years. The family was lucky enough to meet all the stars of the incredible movie including Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and James Caan. Although they were lucky, it almost didn't happen. According to an interview from Fox-NY, the seller Edward Norton III, says that when Paramount Pictures first came to the door, the father didn't think much of it. After speaking to his wife and telling her what had happened, she ran back out the door and saved the deal. Talk about owing his wife. Maybe the Corleone house is not your style and you would rather live in the Atlanta region as opposed to NY, well to each his own, but remember to call the Atlanta movers to help you with that move. The local Atlanta movers are professionals and will make sure that you have a great and pleasant move. The company is licensed and insured so you know they can be trusted.

Freddie Mac Is Tightening

According to Housingwatch.com, Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored mortgage-finance company, is going to be raising the fees to lenders on riskier home loans. That's right, this will affect homebuyers with lower credit ratings. For those with credit scores under 660, the charges can go as high as 3.25% while those with a credit score of 740 or higher can expect a raise of 0.25% upfront fee. To counterbalance an upfront fee of 0.25%, your lender can raise your 30 year loan by 0.05 of a percent or about $10 a month on a loan of $200,000. What does all of this mean? All My Sons of Atlanta, your local Atlanta moving company, suggests to check your credit score sooner rather than later. A score of 740 or higher can save you thousands of dollars on your monthly payments! This squeeze from Freddie Mac is going to take effect starting March 1st. This of course should not scare you from buying that new home or condo. When you do decide on buying your new place, trust the local Atlanta movers for your moving needs. All My Sons of Atlanta are professional movers backed by four generations of moving experience so you know they can be trusted.
